Nick and Julie celebrated fourteen years of marriage by having photos taken at their Silver Lake vow renewal ceremony. It was a private ceremony with only their family in attendance which made it even more special.
When Julie and I first started talking about their special ceremony and the meaning behind it all, I knew that her and I had the same mission and the same heart. After so many things that life throws at you and events that happen along the way, Nick and Julie decided that it was time to renew their vows and live their lives the way that they wanted to….starting with this day! The second I saw them together I could just tell that they were soulmates. Nick’s kind eyes that were effortlessly in love with Julie and Julie’s sweet soul that forever has her family held close.
Some people are simply wonderful and that is what these two are! Being able to photograph this time in their lives is much more than a job to me….it is such an incredible honor!
The ceremony was simple, but SO sweet.
I loved that they brought along their original ring pillow from their wedding. The person holding it is their son 🙂
This is the most special part of the day…the man in the plaid shirt was the officiant of their actual wedding day. He made the trip for the vow renewal too. So sweet! AND, two of their youngest children were baptized in the same ceremony. Yes, I was crying behind my camera!
This glass jar is their family’s ‘adventure jar’. Whenever they go on a new adventure, they will bring something back home to add to it. They all added a little sand to the jar for their first adventure together!
The view from the top was amazing!
You two are seriously adorable together!
I love how you can see the peaks of the sand dunes behind them…it just doesn’t look quite like Michigan.
Absolutely gorgeous, Julie!
It’s fun to think back to 14 years ago how it was just the two of them…now it’s just the six of them 🙂
Pulling away from the sand dunes was such a perfect moment. The wind flowing through our hair from riding on the boat and the most gorgeous sunset!
We took a few more photos back at shore with this tiny little rowboat that Nick and Julie found at their cottage.
The next few images aren’t my typical “light and airy” style…but the sunset was too gorgeous to pass up on some good silhouette shots!!
This photo of Julie walking down the dock was just random….and probably one of my favorites!
What an absolutely special day!!
Nick & Julie – thank you for trusting me to capture such a great day for your family. I wish you all nothing but the best in the future and I can’t wait to see how full your jar becomes over the years 🙂
xoxo – Kellie
