It has always been my dream to take photos at El Matador State Beach in Malibu so taking engagement photos there last week made me, needless to say, ecstatic.

Here in Michigan we often have long flights of steps to get to our gorgeous sandy and grass lined beaches but I was in for quite a surprise when I ended up at those stunning California beaches. After hauling camera gear down two steep and rugged hills and two long flights of stairs…we arrived (then had to go back up again haha). I give major credit to all of you photographers who live this dream out in Cali every day!

I just loved shooting there. These two were freezing since they live in California but coming from a state full of snow, we didn’t mind the cooler temps.

Rocky beaches are always my favorite.

Leszek and Harley sure are one gorgeous couple!

I LOVED Harley’s long hair. Simply stunning.

For their outfits, we wanted something light in color that would stand out against the rocks and light in texture so the wind could make Harley’s dress move easily. It ended up being perfect.

Leszek & Harley – thank you for freezing with us on the beach. I hope you love your images and can’t wait to finish them for you soon! It was so much fun shooting in a new place 🙂
