Why this is important
Has reshaped my views of representing disability in our work
Getting to connect with Kellie and her mission has been an incredible experience that has reshaped my views of representing disability in our work. Because disability does not directly or heavily impact my day to day life, it was easy for me to go about my day or my work not giving it much thought. When I started to work with Kellie and help highlight disability more, I not only learned more about those with disabilities but I learned how I could better assist and serve them in my own industry as a makeup artist. I’ve been able to meet so many incredible women with beautiful stories and experiences in life, and it’s been a great reminder for me that intentionality in my job goes beyond just applying the makeup. It helped me realize that my makeup chair that I bring on site will not work for everyone, that sometimes I will need to tweak my application process to accommodate for different needs, or that I may have to put extra thought into the location I pick to take clients at! Kellie has been a wonderful resource for me to learn from, but also an incredible example of kindness, care and dedication to what she believes in and removing stigma around disability.

Kellie is an amazing woman doing amazing things.
I found her when I was planning my wedding after a severe car accident left me in a wheelchair and having to relearn to walk and move again. She works to bring accessibility into the photography and wedding industries and truly does it beautifully. Kellie is so knowledgeable about not only her photography but also learning and teaching about disabilities and the importance of accessibility in all spaces.

Kellie has been truly eye-opening and has deeply shifted the way I approach my work in the wedding industry.
Her teaching helped me rethink how I show up for my couples with more awareness, care, and intention. I am now far more thoughtful in the questions I ask beforehand—about my couples, their families, and their guests—and more mindful of any disabilities or mobility considerations when planning family and group photos. She encouraged me to ask couples how they feel about their disabilities and how I can best support them, including whether they wish to showcase or keep certain aspects more private. Kellie brings disabilities into the conversation with so much humanity and clarity, giving them the valuable place they deserve within the wedding experience. She is an incredible human, and her presence alone makes this industry more compassionate and thoughtful. The world truly needs more people like Kellie.

Beyond grateful we chose Kellie for our wedding day
One of the biggest reasons I hired Kellie is because she is a disability advocate, and her heart for inclusivity absolutely shows in the way she serves her clients. She genuinely cares, and it reflects in both her work and the overall experience she creates.
