These beautiful extended family photos were taken on the beach at PJ Hoffmaster park in Muskegon. Ken & Holly (the adorable couple with three boys) are coming up on their tenth anniversary….and we photographed their wedding so many years ago. It was SO nice seeing them again!!

Even though their family photo day was a little windy and chilly, I’m still in love with these images. Large family photos are such a treasure that I know families (especially moms) hold so dear.

I just love this large family photo above. I think it may be one of my favorites!! And what an amazing job this family did with their outfits. Yay!!

My approach to extended family photo sessions is to take the large family photos with a few breakdowns following (grandparents with grandkids, just the kids, a portrait of the grandparents, etc). After that, I always love to offer mini sessions of each individual family too. Everyone is already dressed up and looking great so why not?!

I just love this photo. Their gorgeous red hair, simple smiles and the feeling you get just knowing that momma, Heather, adores her sweet girl.
