Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer // Newlyweds – Sean & Jennie!
Couple: Sean & Jennie Wedding Location: Egypt Valley Country Club – Ada Wedding Date: September 8, 2012
1 – How do you like being married? Is it any different than before? For some newlyweds, there isn’t a lot of change after the wedding day. For Sean and I it was a different story. After our wedding we were off to Mexico for two weeks. When returning to Michigan we packed up and headed from Fremont 3 hours to Northville! We both started new jobs, were living together for the first time, and were in a new area. There had been so much change for us, and every moment of it was wonderful because we were together! Marriage is such a blessing to be able to share everything with your best friend. Sean says the biggest adjustment was getting used to my long hair that shed everywhere….if that’s the worst thing I think we’re doing quite well 🙂
2 – Was there anything that you would have done differently on your wedding day or did it go exactly as planned? Our wedding day went very smoothly. There isn’t anything major that we would have changed, except to maybe just take in every single moment of the day because it happens so fast!
3 – Did anything crazy or funny happen that we may not know about? At the end of the night we lit off lanterns for our send off. They were so beautiful, but there was a little scare with one of them not quite making it all the way in the air, it was a little scare, but quickly diffused. It was sort of crazy, but a funny memory we will remember!
4 – Did you have a favorite vendor and/or any details other than photography from the day? One of the bests parts of our wedding was our location. We had the reception at Egypt Valley in Ada. Elizabeth was the wedding coordinator there and she did such an amazing job. She set up all of our decorations for us, and helped with all the details of the day. I also really enjoyed our popcorn bar that we had from Grand Rapids Popcorn Company. It was delicious!
5 – What were your favorite images from the day? Was there any special meaning behind them? Some of our favorite images were taken out on the golf course. There was a silo that was randomly out there and our wonderful photographer was able to capture some AMAzing images! Some of our other favorites were during the ceremony of when I was walking down the aisle, I’m looking at Sean and my dad at my mom, and then there’s a picture of Sean’s face. All of these together really were able to capture the moment!
6 – Do you have any advice for couples that are currently planning their weddings? My advice to a bride planning a wedding is to make sure and have a great master and mistress of ceremony. My brother and sister-in-law Ryan and Rachel were ours and on our wedding day and they were wonderful! They helped make sure everything went smoothly and helped with whatever needed to be done. If you have someone like this on your day it will help take so much stress off of you!
7 – Last one! Tell us about your honeymoon!! For our honeymoon we went to Riviera Maya, Mexico. We had a wonderful time, swam with dolphins, snorkeling, para sailing, and just a lot of relaxing by the pool! We were able to stay 2 weeks so it was a very relaxing long vacation!
