Grand Rapids Senior Photographer // More Than A Face – 2015!
Society tells us a hundred different ways that our value is on the outside. My face. My body. My outfits. My GPA. We are more than what’s obvious. Look deeper. Each has her unique gifts, strengths, weaknesses. Her own Real Beauty. (beautifully written by a MTAF representative, Jenna!)

Seniors, especially senior girls, have a special place in my heart. I remember how difficult high school was…all the politics, the competition and the down right nastiness… Sadly, I think it’s even more difficult today. Having a toddler daughter of my own now, I feel the need and desire to help in any way that I can. Help to make high school a more acceptable and kind place to be….for students current and future. A society that I want my daughter to grow up in. Everyone can help make change…but first, you must be the change!
Of course…all of these girls are beautiful…but it’s what you don’t see that I love about them!
Most of these ladies didn’t meet until this day….coming from all different schools (Grandville, West Ottawa, Unity Christian, West Michigan Christian, Hudsonville). I think I can speak for all of us when saying that we came as strangers and left as friends.
The goal for these images was to make each girl look gorgeous (which was really easy…) but age appropriate. No cleavage, not a lot of skin and not super sexy posing.. Basically images that I’d love to see of my daughter when she is at this age. I think we accomplished that!
Every couple of days over the next few weeks I will be introducing you to each lady….I bet you’ll fall in love with their hearts just like I did!
Each representative gets to choose one person from their school that they think exemplifies our mission….. Whoever they choose will be pampered with hair and makeup styling along with a mini photo session!
Follow along at #mtaf2015 . Even post something about yourself! What makes you unique? What’s behind that pretty face of yours? We’d love for you to join the conversation!
I can’t forget to thank Helena from Helena DeYoung’s Hair Outreach and Shelby from The Day’s Design for their help with this project. Their servant hearts and excitement for this mission is more than I could have asked for! They have truly been a blessing to me and these ladies! Another huge thank you to the Getty Drive-In Theater for allowing us to shoot at their fun venue!! Did you know that you can have your wedding reception there?? Something to think about….
