Only eight and a half months after we moved into our new house….I am writing the first before and after blog post! Honestly, it hasn’t been until recently that I have actually finished a room. Between not having the time to work on it, not knowing what I want to do with each room and not having the funds…let’s just say I am more than ready for it to be finished!
It’s kinda odd how quickly a house can become a home. When leaving our last home, it was quite emotional…not only for me but the entire family and our sweet neighbors. I mean, it was the first house that we bought together, the place that we brought Addy home to when she was born, our next door neighbors were amazing and great friends…so many memories and so much hard work that went into that Gibson address. Although we loved that home, it was time to move on. Time to cut Joe’s drive to work in less than half, time to meet new people, time to stretch our abilities and take our business to the next level….time to become independent and have a life to call our own. Looking back now, it was the right choice. Thankfully we had supportive family and God on our side to make it go so smoothly and so seamlessly!
Our house took over 8 months to sell….which was quite trying. It seemed like it was taking forever, but knowing what we do now, God was just setting everything up in our favor and making it perfect! I remember giving a large sum of money to church and just having faith. And what do you know…we received our first offer two weeks later. Coincidence? I think not! We read that offer and accepted it immediately! Probably 15 houses that we were interested in had sold in the few months prior to selling, so we knew we had to be quick. We looked at many houses….feeling like it could be the one, then it not working out for one reason or the other. I remember walking into our house for the first time….seeing the huge windows and backyard and thinking…”This is it”! I loved it! Joe liked it too, but above all just wanted me to be happy. He is an amazing man! A few back and forths, beating other offers and a huge price decrease later….it was ours!
Eventually I will show the house in it’s entirety….but for now I am going to focus on the dining room. One of my favorite rooms in the house! And it’s done…for the most part!
This is the dining room before…
Did you just say blah? Me too….
I can’t believe that is Addy on the left 8 months ago….she has changed so much!
And after!
Love the colors…..sweet country charm and a little shabby chic mixed together makes this lady happy!
Love these chairs…..and the farmhouse table!
One of the first things that I did was whitewash the brick on the fireplace. Joe was a little scared at first…but it turned out so much better than expected!
Photos everywhere in my house!
