I always love shooting Grand Rapids newborn photos in-home. Something about being in the family’s own surroundings make the images much more personal and unique to them. There’s less running around for the family to do with a brand new baby, trying to get the car loaded, not forgetting something back at the house, making it to the photo location on time…..all in all, it’s so much easier and includes so much less stress (or so I think!).
Eric and Jess have been married for almost five years now and I have been lucky enough to photograph it all. Their engagement photos in Chicago, their wedding at the Bissell Tree House here in Grand Rapids, maternity photos for their little guy Mathias, family photos, Mathias’ newborn photos AND now, Aurora’s newborn photos. THIS is what makes me love my job as a photographer. Meeting a couple and watching their family grow, one by one, and being there to capture it as time goes on. I feel like I get a special “behind the scenes” pass to their life and it is seriously such an honor to me!
Jess is such a gorgeous momma! I have loved getting to know her over the past few years since shooting her wedding. She is one of those people that I fell in love with instantly!
