Engagement photos are the best way to learn more about your photographer, for your photographer to learn more about you and for the two of you to have a little fun together before your wedding day. These engagement photos in downtown Grand Rapids accomplished all those things and more!
Carter and Hannah met me outside as planned on a super cold winter day. It was sunny but so windy. With temperatures below thirty degrees and a wind chill of something much lower, I knew that we wouldn’t last long outdoors (especially since Hannah was in a backless strappy dress – which was gorgeous!). I thought quick and found a few indoor locations that made windy winter weather not only tolerable but actually a little fun.
We found this little corner with plain walls next to a set of large windows. It acted like a studio which was so fun!
Hannah – you are beautiful! I can’t wait to photograph you as a bride.
We took these in early December so there were twinkle lights here and there on Christmas trees. So fun!
The light that poured in through the windows was just perfect.
Aren’t these two just beautiful together?
To mix it up, we moved to a walkway which was a risk. I had never shot there before but I knew there were a lot of windows for light. Light always trumps location. I loved the way these turned out.
We quickly shot a few outside but didn’t last long. It was endlessly cold haha….
Carter & Hannah – thank you so much for braving the weather with me and trusting me while we figured out a new plan for your engagement session. I had so much fun! Your wedding day is going to be here before we know it and I’m beyond excited!!
xoxo – Kellie
