I think we all know that I simply adore photographing weddings by now. But did you know that I think wearing a veil on your wedding day is just about perfection?! I love veils SO much that I decided to dedicate an entire post about it!

Veils add SO much to an image! The texture and fabric that make up a veil allowing light to filter through can’t be beat. They bring romance and softness to images that otherwise can’t be found. Ahhh! I just love veils!

Wearing a veil on your wedding day can be a nuisance, I understand that, but the benefits most definitely outweigh the negatives.

The texture of the veil is often used for detail shots to pull through a constant theme to the day – bringing cohesiveness in your images helping to tell the story. The story full of love, romance and gorgeous imagery!

Can you even imagine these images without Kelly wearing a veil? They add SO much! The wind just grabs a hold of it and pulls onto the playful side of this gorgeous bride’s personality leaving you excited to see more from her day.

Veils help create foreground AND background which is so helpful when trying to make a photo have visual interest.

A veil can also help cover areas that you don’t want to highlight or even be used to make some areas look smaller than they really are….for brides of all sizes! This is a trick that I always have in the back of my mind when taking portraits to help YOU make look your very best. I am not a huge fan of altering someone’s image with photoshop, but using tricks with posing and your wedding attire is totally fair game!

Lizzy’s veil just amps up her bridal status by ten times. Veils always just scream bride and make me over the moon when I hear that my stunning bride will be wearing one!

I often have my lovely brides tell me that they purchased an extra long veil just for me….and let me tell you…that is music to my ears!!
