I just love these two! I met Brad and Katie a couple years ago at Jeff & Amanda’s crazy fun New Year’s Eve wedding so when Katie reached out to me about shooting their engagement photos I was beyond excited! I’m a photographer based in the Grand Rapids area but I met up with them near their home in Kalamazoo for their engagement photos. I had SO much fun!

We started their session in the downtown area where Brad and Katie used to live. They had a few favorite locations already scoped out and I suggested a parking garage rooftop…I’m semi obsessed with shooting on those!

I LOVE these two locations that they had picked out….with the strings of twinkle lights overhead. So pretty!

Social media can be a meh place….but it can also be an amazing place! Several years ago Katie sent a friend request to this cute guy she never met on Facebook – well, that worked out pretty good because now they are getting married!

Does this ring make me look engaged…? 😉

We did a quick change of clothes and ran home to get their pup, Apollo.

This beautiful property is where Katie grew up. Once we got there, we quickly realized that it was going to be a little too dark to get those bright and airy photos that I love. Brad and Katie were quick on their feet and thought of a nearby place to shoot with good light….

….their dog park!

And they were right! The light was great and Apollo was more than happy to run around like a goof playing while we took photos 🙂

Brad & Katie – I couldn’t love you two any more! Thank you for trusting me so much with your photos and just going with the flow….. Not everyone would be willing to follow the light and take photos at the dog park! haha…. I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
