Intimate wedding ceremonies are soon to be a very popular thing. Guidelines from the government are changing daily making it difficult to plan a big wedding like we are used to and people are still wanting to start their lives together as husband and wife….so what to do?! With all these changes, I thought I’d share my favorite 7 Grand Rapids ceremony locations for intimate (or even large) weddings.
Narrowing the venues down was so difficult. I really have so many more, so maybe there will be another post coming, but for now…..seven of my favorites!
Ok, these venues aren’t all right here in the Grand Rapids area….but mostly in West Michigan. The entire state of Michigan is simply beautiful. This venue for Ryan and Desi’s wedding is located in Petoskey, Michigan at The Inn at Bay Harbor.
Beach weddings are so beautiful. I love the simple backdrop that they offer. They hardly need any decor and the light sound of the waves splashing just adds a perfect touch of romance in the background. In Michigan we are so lucky to have beach weddings on Lake Michigan, Lake Superior and any of the other Great Lakes.
Another favorite is The MillCreek Wilde in Watervliet, Michigan. This is an upscale barn venue that has so much to offer. The grounds are absolutely stunning for wedding portraits with pops of character around each corner. What a beautiful place this is!
One of my favorite venues is The Felt Estate in Holland, Michigan. They have the most adorable chapel on their property where you can set up your wedding ceremony right out front. The perfect place to say “I do”. Their grounds are lush and full of green, white fencing and super close to Lake Michigan if you are hoping for a few beach photos too!
Julia & Doug’s wedding day was so perfect there….even though they had a day full of rain…
Another location that I absolutely love is The Centennial Barn in Wayland, Michigan. This location is so fun in every season. The way the sun hits the horizon on their property at sunset is second to none. I just love it there!
A venue that is a little more traditional but still rather unique is Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan. I loved Jay and Mieka’s ceremony right alongside the Rogue River. Peaceful, calm and beautiful.
One venue that is so fun and that has endless opportunity is Hydrangea Blu in Rockford, Michigan. There are SO many beautiful places for photos and the way that the sun peaks over the treeline at the end of the night is simply perfect. I love this inspiration shoot from last summer there.
Chad and Lila’s elopement also took place at Hydrangea Blu. Such a beautiful celebration!
One last venue that I love is The Grand Rapids Art Museum, nestled right in the middle of downtown. The simple lines, the subtle hum of the city and everyone focused just on the two of you starting your life as Mr and Mrs.
All in all, no matter what location you choose to start your married life at it, will be perfect…because it will end in you two being married. The best kind of celebration there is!
xoxo – Kellie
