I absolutely love photographing weddings and this new venue, The Lit GR, is such a perfect place to have your celebration at! The old vintage feel with updated amenities and super close to downtown hotels is sure to be a new favorite place.
Some of my most adored vendors and I came together earlier this week for a small wedding inspiration shoot to capture just how gorgeous The Lit GR is. Since we are coming up on Valentine’s Day in a few short weeks, we decided to go with a romantic feel – adding in shades of pink and reds and a touch of vintage to play into the venue’s character. What do you think? Did we kill it?! I think so!
Michelle, from Red Heels Events, was behind all the decision making and she is pretty much amazing!!
See this pretty red ring below? My mother in law gave this to me a while ago so I thought it would be the perfect fit for this shoot! Love it!
If you are looking for a wedding gown…this Lazaro dress from Bianka Bridal is gorgeous! It photographs beautifully and the fabric looks amazing after wearing all day too!
So, we need to talk about these flowers for a minute. First, they are crazy gorgeous. Second, they are crazy gorgeous. I mean, I’ve put flower arrangements together at home and the never turn out like this. Jenny from Flowerly Art has mad skills. I worked with her this past summer and knew we had to work together again. LOVE!!!
Our model, Tori, was stunning to begin with, but when Sarah (our amazing hair and makeup artist) finished her look and added that dark lipstick, everything came together!
The Lit GR is a new venue in downtown Grand Rapids. It has so much charm everywhere you look with stained glass and little touches of vintage decor. I’m seriously in love!
Look at those wrought iron gates – so pretty!
Now, this table is perfect. The linens with such pretty texture, the colors of the napkins that just pop and those stunning florals again. Honey – I think it’s time for us to renew our vows!!
These linens, flatware, chairs and chargers are from Special Occasions in Grand Rapids. When we went to pick them out they had so many choices. What a great place to find linens for your wedding. If you can’t find what you are looking for there then I’m not sure you will anywhere!
Over the top of the table shots are always so difficult to get….but always worth it!
I love the layers of the vintage china on top – alternating with some small plates and some small bowls.
This cake right here….love it! It is from Meijer, a local grocery store, and cost under twenty dollars. With all those amazing flowers surrounding it, a fancy cake would have been too much. Simple sometimes is better 😉
This gold linen was one of the main inspirations for the whole shoot. Isn’t it lovely?! Paired with that burgundy linen underneath, it just screams romantic.
Hello gorgeous back of the dress!
One black and white shot with Cupid’s cherubs in the background. How perfect is that for a Valentine’s Day inspired wedding?
That lovely stained glass that I mentioned that The Lit GR has inside.
Oh goodness, I’m not sure what else I even have to say. This will probably go down as one of my favorite shoots ever. The model, the linens, the flowers, the dress, all the vendors….everything! Without one, the rest would lack. It certainly takes a team, and this team, this team was the best!! Thank you ALL!!
xoxo – Kellie
